Since I am aware that not everyone feels at ease in front of the camera, I take the time to ensure that everyone of my clients is comfortable and supported.

Getting married in Tofino? Bracey Photography offers a variety of packages from small intimate elopements to full day large weddings. I have been blessed to part of many special wedding days both in Tofino and for many Tofino wedding photography shoots.

  • Images are received via personal online gallery. All images are high resolution 

  • Wedding packages can expect approx 50 edited images per hour of shooting. This can vary depending on how each individual day goes, weather, couple etc.

Whether in Tofino or Ucluelet or surrounding area, there is a perfect location for your photo shoot just for you. Here are some of my favourites.

What’s the best time of year to take family and couples portraits in the Tofino?

Shooting photos in the fall and winter offers up some of the most dramatic skies, lighting and stormy seas. There are less people on the beaches, such as Middle Beach and Chesterman Beach, which makes the area feel much more rugged and remote. But saying that, this brings some very unpredictable weather, so clients must be prepared and be willing to brave the elements. But the images captured with this ever changing backdrop make for inspired photography.

Summertime in Tofino means there is much less rain (it’s always a good idea to be prepared for rain anytime of year though) but the more known beaches such as Cox Bay and Long Beach can be very busy. The sunsets in the summer can be amazing but daytimefog can be an issue, although fog can be very beautiful in the right photos. Late spring, summer and early fall is probably best for families and couples.

The number of locations to choose from as Tofino photographer, in such a small geographical area is almost overwhelming. Expansive sandy beaches, old growth forests, rugged coastlines, calm inlets. I feel so incredibly grateful to have so many opportunities to shoot there and to share my knowledge of the area with clients. I am so in love with the west coast landscapes and love to incorporate them into my wedding and portrait photos.

In the Tofino/Ucluelet areas you can get weather and light situations that you will not encounter in very many other places. Your photos will be unique and so beautiful. The natural way that the rainforest meets the ocean you can easily get a diverse mix of photographs in one shoot.

Summer is an amazing time here on Vancouver Island and the warm weather is so pleasant to shoot in. This is probably better for families with small kids as everyone's a little more relaxed and carefree.
