During a photoshoot I strive to be professional but relaxed, letting the photoshoot evolve naturally. I understand that not everyone is comfortable in front of a camera and I take the time to make sure all my clients feel supported and at ease. I want to photograph real feelings, emotions, moments reflecting the true personalities of you, the client so I try to take a hands off approach until absolutely necessary so as to not interfere with the natural and candid moments of your photo shoot.

Getting married in the Comox Valley? Bracey Photography offers a variety of packages from small intimate elopements to full day large weddings. I have be blessed to part of many special wedding days both in the Comox Valley and for many Comox Valley wedding photography shoots.

  • Images are received via personal online gallery. All images are high resolution 

  • Wedding packages can expect approx 50 edited images per hour of shooting. This can vary depending on how each individual day goes, weather, couple etc.

Whether in Courtenay, Comox, Cumberland or surrounding area, there is a perfect location for your photo shoot just for you. Here are some of my favourites.

What’s the best time of year to take family and couples portraits in the Comox Valley?

I love the shoulder seasons for the light and colours that they offer. In spring everything is so green and lush and the gardens are in full bloom in Comox and Courtenay. Fall in Cumberland and area brings such warm light with the colours of the leaves. Both seasons have very beautiful and dramatic light and skies and the seasons of past and present compete. Spring and fall are also so nice as the sun is lower in the sky, the sunsets are earlier and lighting isn’t harsh.

The downsides can be that the weather in the Comox Valley can be uncooperative. But that can also make for great photographs. Some of my most memorable shoots have been in the pouring rain. It’s a little more risky planning a shoot in the spring or fall seasons but more often than not you are rewarded with more uniquely beautiful conditions.

Summer is an amazing time here on Vancouver Island and the warm weather is so pleasant to shoot in. This is probably better for families with small kids as everyone's a little more relaxed and carefree.
